Around 12:00 a.m. we will break for lunch and then move on to the swimming pool to practice the confined water skills. We are normally done by 15:00 and free to explore Koh Samui above water...
If you like, we can also deliver the Open Water Diver DVD for you to review the day before the course begins. If you do that, we will only need less then 1/2 a day for the first day of the course and you can choose to do the pool session and theory review in the morning or in the afternoon, whichever will work best with your schedule.
Day 3: We will pick you up at 7:00 a.m. and drive to the pier where a light breakfast is served. There we will board a high-speed catamaran that will take us to the private island of Koh Nangyuan, near Koh Tao. The catamaran has full facilities including air-conditioned VIP room, snack bar, reclining seats, movies on board and toilets. The journey takes about 90 minutes and during this time you will complete the last quiz and prepare yourself for the dives with your instructor.
After arriving at Koh Nangyuan we will board our dive boat which reaches the first dive site around Koh Tao in less than 10 minutes. After the first dive we will return to Koh Nangyuan and you will be served a rich buffet lunch at the restaurant. After lunch we will go for your second open water dive around Koh Nangyuan. About 2:30 in the afternoon we will board the catamaran again for the boat trip back to Samui and will be back at Samui by around 4:30 p.m.
Koh Tao is also known as the “turtle island” as its shape resembles a turtle. Koh Tao's little sister island, Koh Nangyuan, is a private island that consists of three smaller islands connected together by a beautiful sandbank. Together, these islands form four bays with crystal-clear water, white sandy beaches with no strong current, a variety of colorful reef fishes and fascinating coral reefs that offer optimal conditions for diving. Koh Tao area dive sites are famous for clear water, lack of strong current and a wide variety of fishes and corals.
After completing the course, you will be certified as a Scuba Diver and therefore be able to dive to depths of 12 meters under the supervision of a dive professional. If you later decide that you want to dive without being supervised by a dive professional) and to dive to depths grater then 12 meters, you can easily upgrade your certification from Scuba Diver to Open Water Diver in just a little more than a day.
Day 4: Open - Explore Samui island or just relax on the beach. |
